Port of Oswego Director Considered For Post in Louisiana

Port of Oswego Executive Director Jonathan Daniels.

The head of the Port of Oswego Authority may be backing away from an offer to run a much larger port.

KPLC-TV of Lake Charles, Louisiana reports that the Port of Lake Charles board of directors will meet today in executive session and that on Monday, “some concerns expressed by Jonathan Daniels makes his chance of becoming the new director slim.”

The TV station reports that Daniels, who heads the Oswego port, was the Lake Charles board’s first choice.  The Port of Lake Charles handles about 5 times the tonnage as the Port of Oswego.

Daniels has run the Port of Oswego since June, 2007.
