The Parish Senior Dining and Activity Center had a wonderful turn out of representatives on Mayors March for Meals Day 2013 – Wednesday March 20.

Thank you all for your dedication to end senior hunger by 2020!

Benefit chicken barbecue at the Parish American Legion Post 601 – Saturday, April 6.

The Russell Horning American Legion Post 601, Parish, is sponsoring a chicken barbecue on April 6 from noon until gone.

People may eat-in or take-out. The price will be $8 for a full chicken dinner including a half chicken with two sides.

There will be a bake sale held in conjunction with the barbecue.

Stop by and pick up your dessert.

There will also be 50/50 raffles.

Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Pleasant Lawn and Bidwell Cemetery associations.

The Parish Volunteer Fire Company will host an open house on April 27 and 28 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at their fire station on 16 Union St.

They will also hold another delicious all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Sunday April 28 from 8:30 – 11 a.m.

Prices: family-$22; adults-$7; seniors-$6; children (4-12)-$4.50; 3 and under-free.
