Possible Referendum Major Topic at Tuesday Board Meeting

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego City School District Board of Education regular meeting is scheduled for March 27 at the Education Center board room.

The call to order for the regular meeting will be 5 p.m. with the board moving to executive session to discuss personnel matters.

At approximately 6 p.m. the board will return to the board room to conduct the regular meeting.

After addressing a variety of resolutions relating to board of education, instruction, personnel and finance the attention will turn toward the Superintendent’s Report.

The board will discuss and review the 2012-13 Oswego City School District Budget proposal and will also determine the scope of a referendum that will be placed before the voters in May.

The tentative plans are for classroom air conditioning for classrooms at the Frederick Leighton  and Charles E. Riley elementary schools as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning in eight classrooms in Minetto Elementary.

Roof replacements could also be undertaken at the Oswego High School, Frederick Leighton and Minetto Elementary as well reconstruction of the bleachers and lighting for the Oswego Middle School athletic field.

Complete details are expected to be finalized for the referendum during the regular meeting on Tuesday.
