Principal Lead and Comprimario Singers Auditions Announcement

Oswego Opera Theatre announces Company auditions for lead and comprimario roles for the 2009-2010 season.
DATE: Wednesday, August 5, 2009
TIME: Beginning 5:30pm

LOCATION: Lamson Road Community Church, just north of Baldwinsville, NY
Corner of Lamson Road and State Route 48 (stoplight at intersection)
BACK-UP: Depending upon requests, another date(s) will be determined

The Company pianist, Rebecca Horning, will be available to accompany, or you may bring your own accompanist. All vocal score editions from G. Schirmer (Monteverdi as realized by Raymond Leppard, 1968). Please prepare up to three arias or excerpts from ensembles from the operas being performed, or arias/excerpts from comparable roles/operas.

Please submit by email to [email protected] your bio, resume and head shot(s) with your audition response, as well as a general audition time preference if necessary. Everyone will be assigned to a specific one-hour time block along with up to four other people. If all cannot be reasonably accommodated on August 5, another date will be opened. with the presentation of Dolore (w/out Goro & Yamadori scenes)
Roles: Cio-Cio-San, Suzuki, Sharpless
Donizetti: from Act I, Lucia di Lammermoor (in Italian)
Beginning at Regnava nel silenzio to the end of the Love Duet
Roles: Lucia, Alisa, Edgardo
Mozart: from Act I, The Marriage of Figaro (in Italian, with recits)
Beginning of Act I through Se vuol ballare
Roles: Susanna, Figaro
Donizetti: from The Elixir of Love (in Italian, with recits)
