OSWEGO, NY – The Public Computing Center at Oswego Public Library holds two-hour workshops every Saturday to meet the needs of local community members to learn about a variety of computer related topics.
This month, the PCC has added an extra workshop on how to download eBooks onto a Kindle because many people have been asking recently how to do this.
This free workshop will be held on March 24 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Other workshops offered on March 24 include Digital Media Club for young people in grades 5 – 8 from noon to 2 p.m., and Take Your USB, Camera or Laptop to Class from 1 to 3 p.m.
Digital Media Club offers safe, fun computer technology related activities for young people, including playing Wii Fit.
Take Your USB, Camera or Laptop to Class provides adults with assistance in learning to use and troubleshoot their laptop computers, connecting their digital cameras to computers to download and save photos, and learning to store files and photos on a USB.
On March 31 the PCC offers a day about Google, the popular search engine.
There are many other activities one can do using Google, besides searching the Internet, including creating web sites and having an email account.
In Google Sites, from 10 a.m. to noon, individuals will learn how to create web sites for their own use or to maket a business.
In the afternoon from 1 to 3, individuals attending Creating a Gmail Account will be helped to set up an email account on Google and will learn about the features of their account.
