OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Public Library opens an exhibit that will feature all the Oswego High School’s graphic art classes 2010 Harborfest Poster Design entries.
During this past school year, Harborfest and the Oswego City School District teamed up on a design contest to determine the 2010 Harborfest design theme to be used on the cover of this year’s program, Harborfest Information Guide and as the Harborfest 2010 commemorative poster.
“We had great participation from all the students,†said Tom Van Schaack, executive director of Harborfest. “We are very pleased that the Oswego Public Library thought enough about the quality of work to put them on display.â€
Students from the school district submitted their ideas based on this year’s cultural component “France.â€
Tenth grader Austin DeMott’s design was chosen from the hundreds of entries that were received.
Also incorporated were designs submitted by elementary students from the school district and are incorporated into the background program cover and the 2010 poster design.
The Oswego Public Library is open Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday noon – 5 p.m.
