Pulaski English students take trip to see Catching Fire

A group of Pulaski High School English and reading students took a field trip to see the movie Catching Fire starring Jennifer Lawrence as heroine Katniss Everdeen to compare the film to the book of the same name by Suzanne Collins.

Pictured showing the sign of solidarity for the rebellion as displayed in the book and movie are: kneeling, left to right, Abby Ward, Kristy Lewis, Jamie Turner, and Savannah Spicer. Standing in back, left to right are: Kiara Sperling, Chelsy Sprague, Halle Currier, Cora Peterson and Abigail Bonnano.

The students read the book in class prior to the trip and then had some great discussions regarding the similarities and differences between the movie and the book.

Many of the students agreed that they liked the book better.

The students were accompanied on the trip by teachers Jill Truax and Deb Hamilton.
