Pulaski Senior Activity Site To Relocate

PULASKI, NY – Seniors visiting Oswego County Opportunities’ Senior Dining and Activity Center in Pulaski will soon be doing so at a new location.

Program services coordinator for OCO Senior Services Division Trinity Engle announced that as of March 2 the Pulaski Senior Dining and Activity Center will be temporarily located at the Springbrook Apartments and is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“We have had move our Pulaski center from the Ringgold Fire Department and are currently looking for a new, permanent location. In the meantime we will continue to offer our senior dining and activity services at the Springbrook Apartments, 7630 N. Jefferson St. We are happy that Springbrook Apartments has offered to host our site and we look forward to serving seniors in the greater Pulaski area,” said Engle.

OCO’s Senior Dining and Activity Center in Pulaski is a popular destination for both the seniors who attend and the many area volunteers who come out to spend time with the seniors and lend a hand.

Open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., the center serves dozens of seniors each week.

Engle credits the success to the welcoming atmosphere that the center offers its visitors.

In addition to offering meals to seniors, the manager and the volunteer staff attend to the welfare of homebound clients through telephone calls and arranging for friendly home visits and create and implement a schedule of events that includes bunco, bingo, card games, arts and crafts days, guest speakers, themed parties, and health and wellness activities.

The center also hosts several special events throughout the year.

“We are very fortunate that Springbrook Apartments has graciously allowed us to use their facility for our Center. We are thankful indeed and I encourage all seniors in greater Pulaski area to visit our Senior Dining and Activity Center. They are welcome to stop by to reacquaint with old friends and make many new friends,” added Engle.
