Purtell Recognized as SUNY New Paltz Scholarship Recipient

NEW PALTZ, NY — SUNY New Paltz celebrates students for receiving a variety of different scholarships during the 2015-2016 academic year.

We congratulate Rachael Purtell of Minetto, NY, who was awarded the New Paltz Presidential Scholarship.

During the 2015-16 academic year, the SUNY New Paltz Foundation provided student scholarship awards totaling nearly $300,000 to 171 student recipients. The college guaranteed four-year awards to an additional 123 students through institutional funds.

At a spring semester reception held in the gallery rotunda of the Fine Arts Building, student scholarship recipients were afforded an opportunity to personally thank many of the donors, alumni and SUNY New Paltz Foundation Board members who have made direct contributions to their academic success.

Located in the heart of a dynamic college town, ninety minutes from metropolitan New York City, the State University of New York at New Paltz is a highly selective college of about 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

One of the most well-regarded public colleges in the nation, New Paltz delivers an extraordinary number of majors in Business, Liberal Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Fine & Performing Arts and Education.

New Paltz embraces its culture as a community where talented and independent minded people from around the world create close personal links with real scholars and artists who love to teach.
