FULTON – Residents at Michaud Residential Health Services enjoyed a special preview performance by the G. Ray Bodley High School – Quirk’s Players, of the upcoming production of the Tony award winning musical and hit movie “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”
Set in the fast-paced 1920s, a girl from Kansas moves to New York City to marry a rich man. She samples the “thoroughly modern” flapper life, makes friends, finds unexpected romance and nearly gets caught up in a white slavery ring, among other plot twists.
The performers showcased a selection of scenes that featured some of the most popular musical selections from the production including “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “How The Other Half Lives,” “The Speed Test” and “They Don’t Know.”
The faculty production staff for “Thoroughly Modern Millie” includes: Tom Briggs – director, Tom Nami – music director, Rob Lescarbeau – assistant director/technical director and Doreen Forbes – choreographer.
Performances of “Thoroughly Modern Millie” are scheduled for March 5, 6 and 7 in the G. Ray Bodley High School Auditorium.
Curtains rise at 7:30 p.m. each performance.
Additionally, there is a 2 p.m. matinee performance on March 7.
