Two local families now have ramps on their homes thanks to the generosity of the owners and staff at Raby’s Hardware Store. A long-time partner in the ARISE of Oswego Ramp Program, the store recently donated $1,200 for materials which allowed ARISE to construct two complete ramps and part of a third.
For over five years, ARISE has been coordinating and building ramps for individuals with disabilities who need the freedom of the home modification in order to come and go from their homes. In addition to a strong core of volunteers who spend many weekends constructing ramps, the ARISE Ramp Program depends on partners and donors to help with the cost of materials.
On behalf of the families whose lives were changed, ARISE thanks Raby’s for their generosity and continued support of the Ramp Program. The owners and staff members at Raby’s are always available to help ARISE complete these home modifications.
There are still more than 30 people who need ramps, and there are many ways for individuals, organizations, and businesses to get involved. Contact Jim or Kris at 342-4088 to find out how to join a team of builders or make a donation to help the Ramp Program and all the programs at ARISE. At the end of the day, you will go home feeling great about your role in providing independence and access for all.
