OSWEGO – Reality Check is looking for teens 13-18 years old, living in Cayuga, Onondaga and Oswego counties who are interested in becoming part of a statewide movement to expose Big Tobacco’s deceptive marking practices targeting youth as replacement smokers.
Reality Check is an opportunity to meet new people, make friends and build experience for college applications, college scholarship applications and employment applications.
Reality Check members learn public speaking skills, effective communication, advocacy and problem solving skills and have the opportunity to work along side adult partners.
Most importantly, Reality Check gives youth the opportunity to make a difference in their community and across NYS.
Reality Check meets monthly at the Backstreet Bookstore in Fulton.
Interested youth should contact Kathleen A. Knopp-Haney, RC at 315-343-2344 #23 or via email at [email protected] for an application.
Reality Check is funded by the New York State Department of Health, through Bureau of Tobacco Control.
