OSWEGO — A welcome reception for the 2012 class of Leadership Oswego County will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, in Room 118 of Rich Hall at SUNY Oswego.
The reception is open to program alumni, employers and interested community members, according to the SUNY Oswego Office of Business and Community Relations. Light refreshments will be served.
“We’re hosting a reception for the new members of the class of 2012,” said Jeff Grimshaw, director of Leadership Oswego County and interim director of OBCR. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for alumni to connect with the new class, and for employers and community members to learn more about the program.”
The program annually prepares a select group of county residents to become future community leaders. It teaches community trusteeship and leadership skills, resulting in a knowledgeable, diverse network of leaders committed to improving the quality of life of Oswego County’s residents, Grimshaw explained.
“In the past 18 years, the nearly 400 program graduates have gone on to support a wide range of service and charitable work, helping make Oswego the wonderful place it is,” Grimshaw said.
Sponsors of the class of 2012 include Alliance Bank, Entergy, Fulton Savings Bank, National Grid, Operation Oswego County, Oswego County Federal Credit Union, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Novelis Corp. and Vickery Insurance.
