The “front rank” of a company from the 1st New York Regiment, Continental Army, 1782 interpreted by Continental Arms Collectors Association’s Revolutionary War Unit drills before the beginning of last Thursday’s Fair Haven Independence Parade.  Using reproductions of British Short Land Pattern, .75 caliber firelocks, they accurately depict weapons surrendered by the British after the Battle of Yorktown in 1781 and issued to the 1st New York the following year.  From left: Paul Lear, Hank Pauly, Adam Mattison and Neal Smith.  The Unit will be appearing at Harborfest’s Opening Ceremonies Thursday evening, July 24, in Oswego.
