Monday, March 26, kicked off Respect Week at the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Middle School.
The school’s Anti-Bully Club, comprised of students in grades five through eight, organized the initiative as a way to promote positivity and empower students to make a difference.
One of the themed-activities for the week-long initiative was a random act of kindness day where teachers and administrators were on the lookout to recognize students for doing good deeds and demonstrating kindness towards others.
Another activity was a school-wide poster contest.
APW fifth grade student Tirone McBroom was selected by a group of his peers as the winner of the contest and will enjoy a special lunch with Principal, James Heffron, and Anti-Bullying Club Advisor and School Psychologist Rosemary Place.
