Restore the Bell Tower at the Bristol Hill Church

Bristol Hill Church and its historic bell tower.

The Bristol Hill United Church of Christ has taken on the challenging task of raising $15,000 for the restoration of the bell tower on the front of our church. We are a small congregation with fewer than 25 regular attendants.

Our church has a rich history which includes involvement in the Underground Railroad movement and in 2001 it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. In order to remain true to our history and original architecture, we have hired a local company, Oswego Valley Millwork, to repair and restore our bell tower.

With the church being listed on the State and National Registry, we have been awarded a grant from Network To Freedom to pay for one-half of the project. The church has almost depleted all of its accounts to pay half of the cost, which has gotten the project off the ground.

Although we have had many successes with dinners and raffles, it isn’t quite enough and we need your help. This letter is to request a pledge of your support in our cause. Whether it is $5 or $50, we are grateful for whatever you may be able to send. If pledging a smaller amount over a few months works for you, that would help us as well.

You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for your donation to our cause. Your pledge will help us complete our financial obligations for this project. A plaque will be erected to display the many donors who helped make this project a reality.

Your pledge can be mailed to:
Raina Hinman
542 Maple Avenue
Fulton, NY 13069

You can also pay with a credit card through a PayPal account. Please visit our webpage at www.bristolhillucc.org for the link to the Bell Tower Donations.

We also have a Facebook page that you can join to follow our cause. We keep our fundraising status posted there and post any upcoming fundraisers on that page.

The church is a national treasure because of our early ancestors. Your pledge is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
The Bell Tower Fundraising Committee
