Richard H. “Dick” Harris, Sr., 60, of Oswego, passed away Wednesday at University Hospital.
He was born in Fulton, a son to the late Vern W. and MaryByrne Trexler Harris. Dick was a U.S. Marine Corps CAP Division veteran of the Vietnam War. He was previously employed with Kenwell Corporation in Fulton. Dick enjoyed writing poetry, going on walks and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William A. Harris, who died in 2001.
Dick is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia L. Rogers Harris; a daughter, Autumn Harris (Bradley) Lyons of Martville; a son, Richard H. Harris, Jr. of Oswego; five siblings, Verne W. (Mildred) Harris of Minetto, Edgar C. (Faunta) Harris of Parish, Rev. Linda J. Harris of Great Bend, NY, Kenneth R. (Kathy) Harris of Scriba and Sheila Ortiz-Harris of Minetto; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011 at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial with military honors will be in Mount Adnah Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.
