CENTRAL SQUARE, NY – Richard Thomas Goldych, 62, of Canandaigua passed away on Wednesday December 31, 2014, following a brief illness.
Born in Syracuse to the late Metro and Mary Goldych, Rich grew up in Sand Ridge, NY, and graduated from the Phoenix High School before he served in the United States Navy on board the USS Gilmore.
Following his military service, Rich lived in Canandaigua for most of his adult life where he was a member of the American Legion, the Canandaigua Veterans’ Club and actively involved in the National Veterans’ Administration Golden Age Games competing throughout the country.
Surviving are his brothers, Michael (Eileen) Goldych, Metro Robert (Pam) Goldych and William Goldych; his sisters, Irene Goldych, Anne Goldych Dailey, Margaret Goldych and Lorraine Goldych; his nephew, Eric Russell; his nieces, Vanessa Goldych, Gina Goldych, Stephanie Goldych, Brielle Dailey and Tera Dailey; his great-niece, Cassandra Holloman; and his great-great-niece, Averi Hernandez.
Calling hours were held January 3, at the Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square, NY.
