HANNIBAL, NY – Richard W. Cole, 81, of Hannibal, passed away suddenly at home Tuesday November 13, 2012.
Born and raised on a farm in the town of Oswego, Richard was a life resident of the area.
Richard retired from the Carrier Corporation in Syracuse after 32 years of service and had previously driven school bus.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and being a volunteer firefighter for the Hannibal Volunteer Fire Company.
Richard was predeceased by his wife, Beverly J. Cole, who died January 22, 2006.
Surviving: his seven children, George Cole, Lynn (Ken) Burba, Mark (Judy) Cole, Lisa Cole, Michele Christopher, Timothy Cole and Chrystal Edwards; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday noon to 2 p.m., with a 2 p.m. service to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal.
Burial will be at Fairdale Rural Cemetery.
