Oswego – Rita R. Roland, 79, a former resident of County Rt. 8, passed away Wednesday, at St. Luke Health Services.
Mrs. Roland was a life resident of the Oswego area. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Belle (Eason) Robbins.
She was the wife of the late Arthur Roland, who died in 2007.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary, for many years, at SUNY-Oswego.
She was an enthusiastic and well-known bowler, and participated in many leagues and tournaments over the years.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (William) Quigley of Fulton; 4 sons, David (Patricia) Roland of Scriba, Robert Roland of Fulton, Lawrence (Margaret) Roland of Oswego, and Kenneth Roland of Granby; a sister, Nancy (Richard) Dashner of Oswego; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 Saturday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
