OSWEGO, NY – The river’s end bookstore is offering the next in its series of programs for writers and those interested in becoming writers.

Chosen Words: Exploring the Art of Poetry, will feature works by a variety of poets and is structured to help even those not familiar with poetry become comfortable with the genre.

The six-week class includes instruction and discussion in a relaxed, small-group setting.

No previous writing experience is necessary.

“The mission of the river’s end bookstore is to serve readers and writers,” said bookstore owner Bill Reilly. “Providing an opportunity for our customers to improve on their writing skills by hosting first-rate writing workshops by Jim Farfaglia is a natural extension of what we do. We love that Jim is helping to groom the next generation of local authors!”

“Poetry can sometimes seem daunting,” said Farfaglia. “The poems that many of us labored through in high school may not be a fair representation of the options poetry offers us to explore our emotions. In this class we’ll be reading and discussing poems to see how they relate to our life – and we’ll even try our hand at poetry writing!”

The class will be held Thursdays, June 20 – August 1 from 6 – 7:45 p.m., except during the Fourth of July week.

There is a fee for the class.
