OSWEGO – Who wants to have a grand opening celebration in January? Not Riverside Artisans.
Everyone knows that June in Oswego is great, so they postponed the opening until June 3, just to have nicer weather.
To celebrate the opening (and the return of warm weather), Riverside Artisans has planned an open house for the community from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 3.
Artist demonstrations, refreshments and drawings for door prizes will take place throughout the day.
The public is encouraged to stop by, see that art, meet the artists, and join in the fun.
In January, Riverside Artisans changed its name from Lakeside Artisans, which formerly occupied the shop.
Lakeside Artisans had won Oswego County’s Business Plan Competition, The Next Great Idea, award in 2010.
This enabled local artist entrepreneurs to start the cooperative that has since grown into Riverside Artisans.
Retirement of two of the cooperative’s founding members at the end of 2016 lead to the change in name.
Riverside Artisans offers a wide range of professional fine art and crafts, as well as an opportunity to meet the artists who have created them.
From original paintings and handcrafted wood work, to fused glass and hand-made jewelry, Riverside Artisans is a great place to look for that unique gift for yourself and for a special someone.
The shop takes pride in reasonably priced, handmade quality crafts and fine art.
Riverside Artisans is a cooperative art store and gallery, operated by local artists and craftspeople, located in the Canal Commons at 191 W. First St.
The store is open Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
