Riverside Cemetery to Honor Sayer Family at Memorial Day Event

Oswego, NY – As the final resting place of veterans from every American conflict, Riverside Cemetery will celebrate Memorial Day with a program on Monday, May 27th.

wreathThe ceremony will begin at approximately 8:45am with the laying of a wreath by local veterans organizations at the flagpole in front of the Page Memorial Chapel.

Immediately following, there will be a short program in the chapel.

The program will include an invocation by Pastor Bruce Schrader, entertainment by the vocal group “The Esquires” and a dedication of Sayer Circle.

The lawn in front of the Page Memorial Chapel is being named Sayer Circle in recognition of the many years of leadership provided by members of the Sayer family. In particular, the leadership of Frank Sayer and the continuing devotion of Ruth Sayer have been critical components in the preservation and vibrancy of this community asset.

After the program, attendees are invited to stay for refreshments and enjoy the spectacular Tiffany stained glass windows in the Page Memorial Chapel.
