OSWEGO, NY – Robert G. Crawford, 87, of Oswego, died Thursday January 12, 2017, in St. Luke Health Services.
He was born in Kittanning, Pa., the son of the late George and Ruth (Harer) Crawford.
Mr. Crawford lived most of his life in California and Northeast, Pennsylvania before moving to Oswego in July of 2015.
Mr. Crawford worked as a civil engineer for Bechtel Co., in Michigan, Ralph Parsons in California and he was an independent contractor at Camp Pendleton.
Later he became head of maintenance at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Course in California.
Mr. Crawford served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War.
He was a national member of the VFW and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Northeast, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Crawford was predeceased by his wife, Marcella Crawford, in 2014.
He is survived by his children, Catherine (Keith) Hook of Oswego and Robert (Kimauni) Crawford in California; and his grandchildren, Stephen, Andrew, Clare, and Sydney.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 17, at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Morisette.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
