Robert Henry Fleischman of Oswego passed away peacefully with family by his side on December 28, 2010.
Robert was born in Oswego, NY on February 19th, 1930 to the late Henry and Anna (Davis) Fleischman.
Robert was a Veteran of the United States Navy from 1949 to 1951 as served aboard the destroyer Willard Keith DD775 during the Korean War. He retired from Niagara Mohawk in 1990 with 33 years of service at the Oswego Steam Station. He was also a charter member of maintenance at Nine Mile Point #1.
Robert was a member of American Legion post 268 and a life member of the VFW 5885.
Robert was a people person and a dear friend to many. He was an inspiration to family and friends alike. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards & socializing with friends.
Robert is survived by his wife Myrtle “Vickie” Fleischman, two daughters, Anne (Fleischman) Santoro of Fort Myers, Florida; Sherry (Michael) Palmitesso of Oswego; a son, Richard (Judy) of Oswego.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Jeanene Fleischman and three sisters, Helen Foster, Ann Scozzari and Mary Jane Cook and a brother, Morris. He also had seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held 3-6p.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 6p.m. following the calling hours at the funeral home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
Spring burial will be in Oswego Rural Cemetery.
