Robert J. Kunzwiler, 81, of 32 Catherine St. Oswego, passed away May 28, 2010 at the Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Wray and Margaret (Toporowski) Kunzwiler.
He was employed as a Layout Leader for Allied Chemical in Solvay.
Bob was an original member of the Young Democratics. He was a Democrat Committeeman for over 50 years and a life member of the Elks #271 Oswego.
He previously worked at Ames Iron Works. He loved to garden and enjoyed his cottage.
He was awarded the JFK Memorial Award on June 12, 2008, which read, â€œfor outstanding-dedication achievements & selfless service to their community.â€
Surviving are his wife, Viola (Hammond) Kunzwiler; two daughters, Teresa Kunzwiler of Watertown, Mass; Connie (Jack) Simmons of Oswego; two brothers, Floyd Kunzwiler of Flint, Michigan; Donald (Carolyn) Kunzwiler of Fulton; a grandson, Brian Castle of Redding, Penn; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Kunzwiler.
Funeral Services will be held 9:00a.m. Wednesday at St. Paulâ€™s Church. Burial will be in St. Peterâ€™s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-6p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St. Oswego.
