Robert Webster, 68, of Fair Haven, died Wednesday at University Hospital in Syracuse.
He was born on December 27, 1942 in South Butler to the late Mary Abrams Webster-Doud and Walter Webster.
Robert was a truck driver for Seneca Foods in Marion, retiring in 1992. He had previously worked for the village of Fair Haven and was employed at Xerox for nine years. Robert had also worked for Nestle Co. in Fulton in the 1970’s.
He was well known in the Fair Haven area where he was active in several organizations. Robert was a 50 year member of the Fair Haven Fire Department, holding many line officer and executive positions. Robert was a founding member of the Bayside Cruisers Classic Car Club, where he was a past president and loved cruising in his ’64 Chrysler Imperial.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Judson Robert Webster who died September 4, 2009; two brothers, Richard and Earl Webster; best friend and faithful companion, Oreo.
Surviving: his wife of 48 years, the former Nancy Walker; five daughters, Melody (Greg) Case, Kristine (Tim) Lozier, Holley (Steve Goolden) Webster, Brenda (Guy Cutter) Webster and Wendy Webster; three sisters, Gertrude (Jerry) Crawford, Patricia (Marty) Ackley and Debra (Jerry) Moss; a brother, Walter (Randi) Webster; a granddaughter, Kayela (Bryan) Arquitt; five grandsons, Gregory Webster, Jon (Jodi) Pafundi, Jeramy Lozier, Bradley McMahon and Brandon Lozier; two great-grandsons, Wesley Arquitte and Dominic Pafundi; several nieces and nephews.
He was an adopted father and grandfather to many.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal. Burial will be at Springbrook Cemetery, Sterling. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal.
