ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Oswego State women’s basketball team dropped a 76-43 contest on the road to the University of Rochester on Tuesday evening. Rochester stayed perfect on the year, moving to 4-0, while the Lakers fell to 0-4.
Oswego (0-4) was led by Courtney Ameele with a game high 14 points. Allie Izzo, Mary Mazzella and Alison Nunziato scored five points apiece.
Zana Dillard grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Izzo, a junior, collected seven boards. Ameele made three of Oswego’s 10 steals.
Rochester opened the game with an 11-0 run and extended that to 14-1 before Ameele triggered a 9-2 burst. She scored the first seven and Izzo finished it with a layup.
That pulled the Lakes to within six at 16-10. That was as close as Oswego would bring the deficit over the duration of the contest.
Following a weekend off over the Thanksgiving break, the Lakers will return to action at 6 p.m. on Dec. 1 when it travels to face the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton.
