Can the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon” keep the streak going in the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds? With defending track champion Matt Sheppard winning the feature last Friday, it now makes the list of winners this season at six with no repeat drivers visiting victory lane. It proves once again the Brewerton Speedway is one of the toughest tracks in the Northeast to win a feature with the weekly field of cars signed in the pits.
Sheppard joins Billy Decker, Willy Decker, Jimmy Phelps, Alan Johnson and Ryan Phelps so far in the NAPA “Winners Classic” on the final point’s night of the season August 31. The Winners Classic is a lucrative event for Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature winners.
The top-five in the modified points are lead by Jimmy Phelps followed by Ryan Phelps, Matt Sheppard, Billy Decker and Larry Wight. Those drivers are only separated by 46 points from first to fifth.
Also on the race card will be the Nationwide Insurance IMCA Modifieds, Beaver River Distribution Mod Lites, Anchor Bar & Grill Four Cylinder Super Stocks. You can take a step back in time as the Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club will be in competition.
Gates will open Friday at 5:30 with the first green flag to wave at 7:30. Adult grandstand admission will be $12 with everyone 18 years old and younger admitted FREE to the grandstands. Pit admission will be $27 competitors/$30 for non-competitors.
As the calendar moves towards summer don’t forget to mark on your calendar, Wednesday, July 18 as the 410 Sprint cars will be making their first ever historic visit to the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon”. The UNOH All-Star Sprints will invade the Brewerton Speedway.
