OSWEGO, NY – Ronald Waters, 75, of Oswego, passed away on Wednesday December 24, 2014, at his home.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late John and Alice (Cook) Waters.
He was a US Navy veteran, who served on and was a Plank Owner of the USS Independence.
He was employed as a carpenter and a member of the Union 747 for more than 50 years. He also worked as a carpenter at SUNY Oswego.
He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a member of the Oswego Elks, American Legion and Hibernians.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Monica (Van Wie) Waters; three daughters, Katrina (Jonathan) Jacobs of Tulsa, Okla., Karen Wygant of Oswego and Kimberly McGann of Oswego; three brothers, George (Rosetta) Waters, Frederick Waters and Alan Waters, all of Oswego; four sisters, Darol Bowerson of Arlington, Texas, Mary Ellen (George) Matott of Cumming, Texas, Paula (Ted) LaBouef of Rome and Natalie Waters of Oswego; grandsons, Mason and Shane McGann; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Robert Waters, Larry Waters, David Waters, Britt Waters and Sheila Demm; and a son-in-law, Michael Wygant.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Church, Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
