The experienced physician assistant is a welcome addition to the busy health center that provides a wide array of reproductive and gynecological healthcare services and comprehensive education.

Surowiec, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Buffalo and a Master’s Degree in Medical Science from the Physician Assistant program at Emory University in Atlanta, brings with her a wealth of experience.

She has worked in the OBGYN departments for Atlanta Grady Memorial Hospital and Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

She has also worked at Auburn’s East Hill Family Medical Family Planning Clinic.

“Rosemarie’s professionalism, openness and acceptance of each individual she serves make her a perfect addition to our medical staff,” said Holst.

As a physician assistant Surowiec works with women from teens to post-menopausal as well as men in regards to all aspects of their reproductive health and overall wellness.

“I always wanted a career in the medical field,” said Surowiec. “I enjoy being a physician assistant. I like that I am often able to spend more time with patients than a physician can, and that in many incidences patients relate to, and feel comfortable with, a physician’s assistant.”

“I especially enjoy working with the population that OCO serves. We offer them excellent patient focused care in a timely, affordable, and thorough fashion. We are here to improve the quality of life for our patients by maintaining their reproductive health. By offering convenient, local health care, OCO Reproductive Health Centers are a vital resource for the communities we serve and I am proud to be a part of it,” she added.

Along with Dr. Coty, who serves as medical director and supervising physician together with Dr. Mahajan, OCO Reproductive Health Services has a medical staff of three Physician Assistants, one RN and three LPNs with additional clerical and administrative supports.

With Health Centers in Fulton, Oswego, SUNY Oswego, Pulaski, and Mexico, OCO is one of the major reproductive healthcare providers for Oswego County.

“Our health centers are staffed with medical professionals who provide our patients with a high quality of care. They truly care about the population they serve.  I am happy to welcome Rosemarie to our medical staff and am confident that our patients will be pleased with the care she provides,” Holst said.
