My name is Corissa Tefft and I am a senior at Paul V. Moore High School. For the past five years I have volunteered most Sundays at Rosewood Heights Nursing Home in Syracuse. While volunteering I have gotten to know the residents and they have become my second family. Unfortunately, many of the residents are not well off, have few visitors, and are in need of clothing. Like in previous years, I would like to do a Christmas pajama drive for the residents.
Since I started organizing this drive in 2006 the amount of donations has grown in size every year. The rising amount of donations allows for not only pajamas to be purchased but also rocking chairs, arts and craft supplies and decorations. Every resident of Rosewood receives their gift of pajamas on Christmas Eve, which for some residents this is their only gift. This has become a yearly tradition that everyone looks forward to at Rosewood.
I will be collecting new men’s and women’s, sweat suits/lounge wear, pajama sets, night gowns, wrapping supplies, and monetary donations. Any donation will be greatly appreciated to make this another great Christmas for the residents! A special thank you to all that have donated in the past, you have made the pajama drive such a huge success! Donations can be dropped off at Rosewood Heights Nursing Home, my home, 1939 US Rt.11 Hastings NY, 13076, or Paul V. Moore High School in Central Square. I can be contacted at 315-668-7553 or www.rosewoodpjdrive.com.
