FULTON, NY – At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Donna Kestner introduced Earl Holdren from the Civil Air Patrol.
The program was started in 1941 and organized under the Civil Defense Department.
It is now an auxiliary of the United States Air Force.
They have 61,000 members that range in age from 12 to late 80s.
Their missions include, but are not limited to, coastal/border patrol, disaster relief, pilot training, search and rescue, and education and emergency services.
The Congress calls the Civil Air Patrol the “best kept secret.”
The Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at Fulton’s Riverside Inn.
