Rotarians Hear About German Education, Health Systems

FULTON, NY – Rotarian Mary Costigan had the pleasant task of introducing her intern to the Fulton Rotary Club at a recent meeting.

Claudia Anderson was born in Germany and attended school there.

She married an American serviceman and when he retired, they settled in Central New York.

Claudia and her husband are the parents of six children.

Claudia trained as a hairdresser in Germany, but was allergic to the chemicals used in that profession.

She is now attending Syracuse University to earn her degree in Nursing Home Management.

Her mentor, Costigan, is the administrator of Michaud Nursing Home.

Claudia explained the German system of education,  which includes free college education.

Claudia also discussed the German Health Care System and compared it to our health care system.
