FULTON – At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian LaVerne DeLand introduced Bill Conole, representing the Honor Flight Program.
The program recognizes and honors the sacrifices and commitments of veterans, primarily from World War II, but also the Korean and Vietnam wars as well.
The program provides transportation for these veterans to visit the memorials in Washington DC and participate in recognition events.
The big fundraiser is the annual Veterans’ Day Dinner.
This year the dinner will be hosted at the newly renovated Marriott Syracuse Hotel.
The dinner is scheduled for November 9.
Dr. Mike Haynie will be the keynote speaker at the dinner.
He is the vice chancellor of Syracuse University and is responsible for
veteran and military affairs.
The Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at Mimi’s.
