FULTON – At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Jeanne Cieszeski, introduced Mike Egan who is the current chair/president of The Literacy Coalition of Oswego County, which was started in 2009 and represents the many communities in Oswego County.
In Oswego County, close to 17,000 adults cannot read above a fifth grade level.
Strong literacy skills being the ability to read, write, speak, compute, and solve problems are essential for individuals and families to succeed in any community.
LCOC is a growing coalition of more than 36 local organizations dedicated to improving literacy in our county, working together to address the literacy
needs of people of all ages.
Areas covered include basic, workforce, computer, health, and financial literacy.
The Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at Mimi’s.
