FULTON, NY – Fulton Rotarian Alison McGrath explained the “Stuff A Bus” program at a recent Rotary meeting at the Tavern on the Lock Restaurant.
“Stuff A Bus” is a Greater Oswego County United Way program which supplies school materials to needy students in all school districts in the county.
The program is in its 13th year.
All nine school districts in the county participate and benefit from “Stuff A Bus.”
McGrath started the program when she joined the United Way as an intern 13 years ago.
Funds to stock the buses with needed school supplies are raised in many ways.
Most service clubs in the county contribute school supplies and money.
Many corporations and individuals contribute funds.
A recent breakfast on Saturday of Harborfest weekend raised more than $3,000 to purchase school supplies.
Distribution of the school supplies will take place on August 19.
