RSVP Orientation Session to Share Options for Volunteering

OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will hold a volunteer orientation for retired or semi-retired adults at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the McCrobie Civic Center, 41 Lake St.

RSVP Director Ellen Wahl and Advisory Council member Patricia Jones will conduct the session.

The Music Hall, which will provide light refreshments, and Harborfest, donating door prizes, both have headquarters in the McCrobie Building. They are two of more than 100 partnering agencies with which RSVP collaborates to bring needed services and enhance quality of life for Oswego County residents.

The range of volunteer opportunities through RSVP runs the gamut of human and community service, from education to environment, health and nutrition to economic development. The open forum will pay particular attention to individual needs and to skill sets of volunteers and their application in the service sector.

Those considering retirement and wondering there is to do in the community or wanting to give back should plan to attend this session, organizers said.
