OSWEGO, NY – The Rural Health Network of Oswego County recently presented five $500 scholarships to area college students who are pursuing healthcare careers.
The RHN includes many health and human services agencies and providers across Oswego County with the mission of the organization to improve the quality, affordability and availability of health care services in Oswego County by focusing key resources to address specific health care priorities and strengthen our local health care system.
In the photo from left are Jeff Coakley, RHN advisory committee member and vice president for strategic services at Oswego Health; Meagan Gage, of Hannibal, who will attend the Rochester Institute of Technology to study to become an ultrasound technician; Kara Pafumi, of Fulton, a recent SUNY Binghamton graduate is attending Crouse Hospital’s College of Nursing. She will initially become a registered nurse before earning her nurse practitioner degree; Paige Recore, of Phoenix, who will attend Daemen College to study physical therapy; Ellen Holst, RHN advisory board member and senior director of the health and nutrition department at Oswego County Opportunities; Daniel Dey, chair of the RHN advisory board and chief executive officer for the Northern Oswego County Health Services Inc; and Brian Coleman, RHN Coordinator.
Absent from the photo were recipients Amber Bradish, of Mexico, who will attend Cayuga Community College’s nursing program and Michael Holcomb, of Fulton, who is a pre-med major at the University of Rochester.
