OSWEGO, NY – Ruth M. Wallace, 86, a resident of Oswego passed away of natural causes on Monday May 9, 2011, at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Marguerite (Pilon) Vickery and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
Ruth was an avid member of St. Louis Church as well as the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary and the Home Bureau of Scriba.
She loved to go camping and enjoyed knitting and sewing.

She married the late Raymond G. Wallace and spent the rest of her life being a devoted homemaker and wife.
Surviving are her children, Barbara (Paul) Chatterton, David (Charlene) Wallace, Raejean Wallace, Richard (Gloria) Wallace, Douglas (Connie) Wallace and Michelle (Richard) Smith all of Oswego; two sisters, Teresa Dunsmoor of Scriba and Mary Margaret Inch of Fulton; two brothers, F. Joseph (Gwen) Vickery and Francis “Chickie” (Linda) Vickery both of Oswego; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she is also predeceased by her daughter, Margaret Smith; her sisters, Rose Marshall and Dorothy Burdick; and her brother, Donald (Pete) Vickery.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Thursday from 3-7 p.m.
