Sally Ann Delaney, 76 and a resident of 150 East First St. in Oswego, passed away December 24, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Watertown and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Thelma Bennett Remus.

Mrs. Delaney was the widow of the late Richard J. Delaney, Sr. who died on July 25, 2011.

She had enjoyed taking care of the elderly and retired from Loretto Nursing Home, formerly Hillcrest Nursing Home in 1996. She had also been an active care giver in the community.

She was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

She was a Communicant of St. Paul’s Church.

She was the loving and blessed mother to twelve children, five sons, David J. (Ellen) Delaney, Richard J. (Kathy) Delaney, Jr., Daniel J. (Anita) Delaney all of Oswego, Donald J. (Karen) Delaney of Liverpool, Dale J. (Tonya) Delaney of Syracuse, six daughters Deborah J. (Gary) Ayers of North Carolina, Dawn J. (Randy) Wicks of Rochester, Diana J. Delaney of Liverpool, Darlene J. Delaney of Binghamton, Dessa J. Delaney of Webster, Denise J. (Scott) Dohse of Oswego, one brother, Roy (Jerry) Remus of Watertown and one sister June (Jack) Chabala of Pennsylvania, eighteen grandchildren, Jim (Sara) Ayers, Brandon (Kate) Delaney, Dustin (Jeanette) Delaney, Sean Delaney, Jenna Delaney, Maia Delaney, Shanna Delaney, Philip Delaney, Nicholas Delaney, Rebecca Delaney, Devin Delaney, Ryan Wicks, Jason Wicks, Nathan Wicks, Jordan Delaney, Trey Delaney, Tyler Dohse, Colin Dohse, two great grandchildren, Lila Ayers and Greyson Ayers. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Delaney was predeceased by one son, Duane J. Delaney, one sister Theresa Remus, and one brother Robert Remus.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 8:30AM from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 9:00AM in St. Paul’s Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 4-7PM at the funeral home.
