Kindness, compassion, generosity and good will were in the spotlight during a fifth grade choral performance recently at Sandy Creek Elementary School.
The themed musical performance centered on making a difference, with the fifth grade chorus belting out a handful of songs that reflected that message.
“(The performance) encourages kids to help others and (teaches them) about character education in our community, schools and homes,” said music teacher Jackie Hobbs. “Remember, we are all in this world together and we can help each other out.”
In front of a packed gymnasium, the fifth-graders used song to encourage their peers to take small strides to make a difference.
“Even if we can’t do a lot, every little bit adds up,” one student said. “You can help if you want to.”
