Middle School Principal Carolyn Shirley, NJHS adviser Susan Gafner and Superintendent of Schools Kyle Faulkner welcomed the new members who joined the 18 current members of the elite group.

In his welcome, Faulkner told the students, “This ceremony is only the beginning,” he said and urged the members to “continue to work hard and become great citizens.”

The Sandy Creek Chapter of NJHS recognizes students for more than outstanding academics, though membership requires a minimum 90 average or above for consideration.

It also celebrates and recognizes students for the five ideals, representing knowledge and truth: scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship.

Students were announced and presented with certificates and special pins to mark the occasion.

Principal Shirley administered the NJHS Oath to the following new inductees:

Annie Chen, Aldyn Landas, Ashleigh Rosenbaum, Sean Tritten, Madison Benedict, Alayna Blount, Mary Carnes, Harley Douglas, Jessica Graham, Emma Halsey, Wyatt Hilton, Madison Lamica, Abigail Lantry, Hailey McNitt, Kendra Poyneer, Cailey Robbins, Dorothy Searles and Matthew Trudell.
