The Sandy Creek Central School District will be conducting registration for the Pre-K and Kindergarten classes of 2013 on February 6 from 1-6 p.m. in the Sandy Creek Elementary School office.
This registration is for incoming Pre-K students who must be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2013, and incoming Kindergarten students who are not currently enrolled in the Sandy Creek Pre-K program. Incoming Kindergarten candidates must be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2013.
Students and parents/guardians must be residents of the district, and proof of residency or custody may be necessary if there is a question. Parents/guardians must also provide a valid birth certificate and shot record for any child they will be registering.
Pre-K registration on February 6, will determine participation in the program. If more than 40 students register, all candidates enter a lottery and the first 40 names drawn are selected to participate. A waiting list will be established for those students whose name was not among the first 40. If less than 40 students register for Pre-K, all eligible candidates can participate in the program.
Students currently enrolled in the Pre-K program at Sandy Creek Elementary School will bring home paperwork for kindergarten registration which should be returned to the Pre-K teacher, Julie McNitt, or the Elementary School office. This begins the process for those students.
All incoming students will be screened in separate sessions, and parents/guardians will be contacted with information regarding their child’s screening at a later date. Call Sue Ann Archibee, Sandy Creek Elementary School Principal with any questions at 387-3445.
