When asked to describe Susan (Sue) Bitz, her fellow teachers and staff members at Sandy Creek High School nearly always responded the same way:
“She loved this school and this community.”
“She was our number one fan for all kids and all our teams.”
For the football team she cooked spaghetti dinners the night before games, attended every game, announced the lineups, ran the scoreboard, and helped out in any way possible.
She was best described as the district’s “number one fan.”
On September 13 the Sandy Creek Stadium Press Box will be dedicated to Sue Bitz before the start of the first home game at 5:30 p.m.
Sue lost her battle with cancer on July 27, but her spirit and legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the students she inspired.
One of her favorite sayings was “Life is Good” and according to Michael Stevens, Physical Education, Health & Athletics Coordinator and head football coach at Sandy Creek, “We all try our best to make life just that. Life is Good,” he said. “But it’s not the same without Sue.”
Please join the Sandy Creek School District in honoring Susan Bitz during the dedication of the press box on September 13 at 5:30 p.m.
Kickoff for the game vs. New York Mills will follow at 7 p.m.
