Santo M. Bonanno, 83

Santo M. Bonanno, 83, of Richland died Thursday at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Bonanno was born in Fulton, and was a resident of Adams for thirty – five years prior to moving to Richland. He retired in 1984 as a schoolteacher from South Jefferson Central School.

Mr. Bonanno was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #586, and VFW of Adams. He was a member of the Historical Association, in South Jefferson. He served in the United States Army from 1954-56.

Mr. Bonanno is survived by his wife of fifty-six years Mary Ellen Bonanno of Richland, his son Vincent (Tracy) Bonanno of Pulaski, daughter Paula (Douglas) Mason of Liverpool, sister Marianne (Leonard) Cool of Oswego, and grandchildren Alantis, Abigail, Anthony, Joshua, Jared, and James.

Mr. Bonanno was predeceased by siblings Angie Spataro, and Anthony Bonanno.

Funeral services will be Tuesday 7:00 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego. Calling hours will be Tuesday 4:00- 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home 147 West Fourth St., Oswego.

    Our condolences to the Bonanno family. Santo had a great sense of humor and we never saw him without a smile on his face. He will be missed.
