OSWEGO, NY – Members of the Oswego Fire Department pose Tuesday behind bags packed with all the fixings for a Thanksgiving feast.

The firefighters volunteered their time to help fill the bags and distribute them to area needy families in time for the holiday.

Several dozen food baskets were handed out.

The firefighters also donated $1,500 to Deb Deeb of the Human Concerns food pantry to support the effort.

The local firefighters have been helping to sustain this project for decades.

Among those lending a hand this year are, from left, John Coughlin, Joe Smegelsky, Deeb, Tom Miller, and Eric Mills.
