* IMPACTS…HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL RESULT IN VERY DIFFICULT
TRAVEL WITH VERY POOR VISIBILITY AND DEEP SNOW COVER ON ROADS.

…BANDS OF HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH THE AFTERNOON…

BANDS OF WIND DRIVEN LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO IMPACT
THE REGION THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS. BURSTS OF HEAVY SNOWFALL
WILL OCCUR AT TIMES…WITH THE HEAVIEST BURSTS PRODUCING SNOWFALL
RATES UP TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR.

THE HEAVY SNOW BANDS COMBINED WITH FREQUENT WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO
50 MPH WILL RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY…
BELOW A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES. NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS COULD
EASILY BE ENCOUNTERED.

MOTORISTS TRAVELING ACROSS THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON SHOULD
EXERCISE EXTRA CAUTION. ROADWAYS WILL BE SNOW COVERED AND VERY
HAZARDOUS…WITH SUDDEN CHANGES IN VISIBILITY LIKELY IN HEAVY
SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

INTERSTATE 81 BETWEEN WATERTOWN AND CENTRAL SQUARE WILL BE
GREATLY IMPACTED.

HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS
AFTERNOON…

* LOCATIONS…OSWEGO…JEFFERSON…LEWIS COUNTIES.

* TIMING…THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.

* WINDS…WEST 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH.

* IMPACTS…WINDS OF THIS MAGNITUDE WILL BRING DOWN A FEW TREES
AND RESULT IN SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES. MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE
IS ALSO POSSIBLE. DRIVING IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES WILL BE
DIFFICULT.

A HIGH WIND WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS OF 40 MPH ARE
EXPECTED FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR…WITH GUSTS OF 58 MPH OR GREATER
AT ANY TIME. DAMAGE TO TREES…POWER LINES…AND PROPERTY ARE
POSSIBLE WITH WIND OF THIS MAGNITUDE. IF YOU HAVE A HIGH PROFILE
VEHICLES BE EXTRA CAREFUL UNTIL THE WIND SUBSIDES.
