LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM TUESDAY TO 10 AM EST WEDNESDAY.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM TUESDAY TO 10 AM EST WEDNESDAY.
THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
LOCATIONS: OSWEGO COUNTY AND LEWIS COUNTY.
TIMING: THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY MORNING.
ACCUMULATIONS: THE SNOWS WILL COME IN TWO ROUNDS.
THE FIRST ROUND TONIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY MORNING WILL BRING STORM TOTALS
OF 7 TO 15 INCHES.
THE SECOND ROUND TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING WILL BRING AN ADDITIONAL 10 TO 20 INCHES.
IN BOTH CASES GREATEST ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE FOUND ON THE TUG HILL PLATEAU.
WINDS: SOUTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH.
VISIBILITIES: A QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.
IMPACTS: NARROW BANDS OF HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW ACROSS THE AREA ALONG WITH CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS AT TIMES WITH SEVERELY REDUCED VISIBILITIES AND SNOW COVERED ROADWAYS.
SNOWFALL RATES OF AS HIGH AS 1 TO 3 INCHES AN HOUR WILL BE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE MOST INTENSE AND PERSISTENT SNOW BANDS.
Fulton city (Centro) is on modified routes, using Broadway between Fulton Commons and Byrne Dairy (east side) and 481 between Towpath and River Glen for the rest of today, Monday 1/5/15.
The City of Fulton has issued a travel advisory effective at 2 p.m.today (January 5).
Snow and gusting winds along with a forecast of significant snowfall this evening have created very hazardous driving conditions. Motorists are advised against any unnecessary travel. Vehicles will be towed if they become stuck or if they present a hazard.
