School Violence Prevention and Intervention (“Project S.A.V.E.”)


The Oswego County BOCES Distance Learning Program, in conjunction with OnondagaCommunity College, is offering a course entitled School Violence Prevention and Intervention, also known as Project S.A.V.E.

All applicants for a teaching certificate on or after February 2, 2001, are required to complete at least two clock hours of course work or training in school violence prevention and intervention in accordance with Section 3004 of the Education Law. This includes individuals applying for certification as teacher assistants, teachers, pupil personnel services, professionals, and school administrators.

The course will be offered at the Distance Learning Room at Central Square Paul V. Moore High School, Room #1236 with Sue Parsnow and in room #176 at J.C.BirdleboughHigh Schoolin Phoenixwith Kathy Lathrop. The class will be held on Tuesday, October 18th from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. Tuition cost is $39.00.  Registration forms are available on the Oswego County BOCES web site at: www.oswegoboces.org/profservices/distancelearning/ChildAbuseSAVE.asp.
